Car Rental and Security Deposit: What It Is and How It Works

When renting a vehicle, the security deposit is a mandatory step, as the rental company is granting the customer the use of a valuable asset and must therefore ensure its protection.

The deposit is a sum of money temporarily blocked on your payment card for the duration of the rental agreement. It is used as a precautionary measure and also serves to verify the validity of the payment or credit card presented.

Therefore, the rental company undertakes to return the amount immediately after verifying the vehicle's good condition and the proper fulfillment of the obligations of the signed rental agreement.

Security Deposit Refund: When and What to Do

Our systems release the security deposit within a few hours of closing the rental agreement. Our company will issue or email you a receipt for the release. However, it may happen that the released amount is not immediately available on your bank statement. Unfortunately, we can release the funds, but we have no control over the actual crediting times, which are coordinated by the companies that manage credit cards and interbank transactions.

If you have any questions or concerns and your rental has already ended, we suggest you contact us here for information or assistance.
