Rental guide
Car rental in Italy: what's included and what can change at the counter
With Trayectis the quote already includes zero-deductible coverage, and you are not asked to buy extra mandatory insurance at pick-up. The transfer between the airport and the pick-up point is free, and if you return the car somewhere else, the one-way fee is shown in the final price before you book. A few charges can still apply, and we list them below.
What the Trayectis price includes
- Zero deductible (franquicia cero) on the vehicles in the quote.
- No extra mandatory insurance at the counter.
- A free transfer between the airport terminal and the pick-up point (a shuttle, or an agent who walks you there at Bari), at pick-up and at return.
- A final price shown before you book, including the one-way fee if you return to a different location.
- Automatic-transmission, latest-generation minivans for 5 to 9 people.
Charges that can still apply
No rental is free of conditions. These are the charges that can apply with Trayectis. They are explained in advance in the booking confirmation and are separate from the zero deductible.
| Concept | How it works |
|---|---|
| Fuel | The car is handed over with a full tank and must be returned full. Otherwise a refuelling service fee applies, plus the cost of the fuel. |
| Fines and unpaid tolls | An administrative fee of €25 for managing fines and unpaid tolls. |
| Accidents | An administrative fee of €80 in case of an accident. |
| Security deposit | A hold on your card, not a charge. It is released within a few hours of closing the contract. |
| Optional extras | Child seats and similar accessories are optional and quoted separately. |
How this differs from a typical low-cost rental
| Concept | Trayectis | Typical low-cost rental |
|---|---|---|
| Zero-deductible coverage | Included | Often charged separately |
| Extra mandatory insurance at the counter | None | Common |
| One-way return | Shown in the final price | Charged separately |
| Airport transfer | Free | Sometimes paid |
This is a general comparison of rental models, not a statement about any specific company. Conditions vary by provider, so always read the contract before you sign.
How the security deposit works
The deposit is a sum temporarily blocked on your payment card as a precaution, and it also verifies that the card is valid. It is not a charge. Our system releases it within a few hours of closing the rental contract; your bank may take longer to show the money as available. The deposit amount depends on the vehicle and is shown in your quote. See the official page for details.
Pick-up and return at the airport
Our operational base is in Venice, and we hand over cars at Venice Marco Polo, Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, Bari Karol Wojtyla and Florence Peretola, every day from 08:00 to 20:00.
At Venice, Rome, Florence and Milan Malpensa the process is the same: after you collect your luggage, you call or message our operator and go to the shuttle boarding point. A free minibus takes you to the car park, where the operator shows you the car and you sign the contract digitally. On return, you drive to the car park, an operator checks the vehicle and the fuel, you sign to close the contract, and the minibus takes you back to the terminal.
Bari works differently: there is no shuttle. After leaving through exit door 3 in Arrivals, you contact our agent on WhatsApp, who meets you and walks you and your group to our base parking point, where you check the car and sign. On return, you drive to the same point, the agent checks the car and walks you to the terminal.
The exact meeting point for each airport is in the table below and in your pick-up instructions.
Need a different city, such as Naples or Sorrento? Ask us: delivery elsewhere can be arranged on request.
| Airport | Where to meet | Car park address |

| Milan Malpensa | Terminal 1: departures, door 18. Terminal 2: departures, in front of the Banco BPM entrance | Via dell'Industria 12, 21019 Somma Lombardo (VA) |
| Bari Karol Wojtyla | No shuttle: exit door 3 in Arrivals, where our agent meets you | Base parking point indicated by the agent |

Frequently asked questions
Is zero-deductible coverage included in the price?
Yes. The vehicles in the Trayectis quote come with zero deductible (franquicia cero) included. Administrative fees for fines, unpaid tolls and accidents are separate from it and are explained in the booking confirmation.
Will I be asked to buy extra insurance at pick-up?
No. Trayectis does not require extra mandatory insurance at the counter. Anything optional, such as child seats, is quoted separately and you decide whether to add it.
Is the security deposit a charge?
No. It is an amount temporarily blocked on your card as a precaution. Our system releases it within a few hours of closing the rental contract, although your bank may take longer to show it as available.
What extra fees can apply?
A refuelling fee if the car is not returned with a full tank, an administrative fee of €25 for managing fines and unpaid tolls, and €80 in case of an accident. All are explained in advance in the booking confirmation.
Can I return the car in a different city?
Yes, subject to availability. If a one-way fee applies, it is shown in the final price before you book, so there is nothing extra to pay at pick-up.
Where can I pick up and return the car?
At Venice Marco Polo, Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa, Bari Karol Wojtyla and Florence Peretola, every day from 08:00 to 20:00, with a free transfer between the terminal and the pick-up point. Other cities, such as Naples or Sorrento, can be arranged on request.
